Performance Sets

Performance sets are like scenes in a lighting console. Each set has its own chain, modulations, palette, and MIDI bindings. During a show, you switch between sets to change your entire visual look instantly.

Creating sets

The set tab bar runs along the top of the window. You start with one set (“Main”).

  • Click + to create a new set. It starts empty — build a different visual look here.
  • Double-click a tab to rename it (e.g. “Opener”, “Drop”, “Ambient”, “Finale”).

Switching sets

Click a set tab to switch. The chain, parameters, modulations, and palette all swap instantly. This is your primary tool for live transitions.

Set transitions

The Set Transition panel (left column) crossfades between sets instead of hard-cutting. It’s a single deck strip — current set on the left, GO in the middle, the cued next set on the right:

  1. Click the right-hand name to pick any set from the menu. Picking only cues it; nothing changes on screen yet.
  2. Hit GO to fire the transition. While the fade plays, the GO button becomes the progress bar.

Cue the next look while the current one plays, then hit GO on the downbeat. After each transition the cue moves on to the following set, so repeatedly hitting GO walks through your sets in order.

The ⚙ button holds the transition settings:

  • Style — classic crossfade, directional wipes, dissolve, or fade through black.
  • Curve — how the blend ramps: Linear, Equal Power, or Ease In/Out.
  • Time — fade length in beats (follows the BPM clock) or ms (fixed wall-clock). Set it to 0 for an instant cut. Sync waits for the next bar before starting the fade.

Set tabs still switch instantly — use the panel when you want the switch animated.

What’s stored per set

Each set independently stores:

  • Chain — which sources and effects, in what order
  • Parameters — all slider values for every node
  • Modulations — audio bindings, beat LFOs, curves, ranges
  • Palette — the full palette config: seven swatches, channel bindings, and master hue offset
  • Controller bindings — the per-set MIDI CC → parameter map (controller hardware profiles are shared across sets at the show level)
  • Action buttons — macros and their pad/key bindings
  • Notes — per-set freeform text you can use for cues or reminders

Workflow for a show

  1. Before the show: Create 4-8 sets with different looks. Name them by energy level or song section.
  2. During the show: Switch sets to match the music. Tweak parameters within each set for variation.
  3. Between songs: Use hold mode to prepare the next set in preview before pushing it live.

Tips

  • Duplicate a set (right-click the tab) to create a variation of an existing look without starting from scratch.
  • Reorder sets by dragging tabs — put your most-used looks in easy reach.
  • Sets are saved as part of your show file.
