Getting Started
Your first visuals in 60 seconds
-
Add a source. In the Sources palette on the left, click Voronoi. A generative visual appears on the canvas immediately.
-
Tweak it. Select the Voronoi node in the chain. The parameter panel on the right shows sliders — try dragging Scale and Speed.
-
Layer another source. Click Plasma in the Sources palette. It appears on top of Voronoi in the chain.
-
Blend them. Select Plasma in the chain and drag its opacity slider in the parameter panel on the right to mix it with Voronoi.
-
Add an effect. In the Effects palette, click Bloom. It applies a glow to everything above it in the chain.
That’s it — you’re performing. Everything else in Lightbridge builds on this loop: add sources, tweak parameters, layer with effects.
What to learn next
Guides walk you through a task end to end:
- How the chain works — understand why order matters
- Audio reactivity — make visuals react to music
- Beat sync — lock animations to the tempo
- Performing live — hold mode, sets, and gig workflow
Concepts explain how the system works underneath:
- The Chain Model — the flat accumulator, render order, feedback
- Parameter Priority — how MIDI, modulation, and palette combine
- The Modulation System — the full signal flow
In-app tutorial
Lightbridge includes a built-in interactive tutorial. Open it from Help > Tutorial in the menu bar. It walks you through the same concepts with guided highlights and action-based steps.
