Privacy Policy

Lightbridge is built by a small team that values your privacy. This policy explains what data Lightbridge collects, why, and how you control it.

What we collect

Crash reports

Lightbridge uses Sentry to collect crash reports when the application encounters an error. Crash reports include:

  • Error type and stack trace (code location of the crash)
  • Application version and Electron version
  • Operating system and architecture (e.g. macOS arm64)

Crash reports do not include:

  • Your name, email, or any personal information
  • Your show files, presets, or creative content
  • Audio input or microphone data
  • MIDI controller data or mappings
  • Usage patterns, analytics, or telemetry
  • File paths on your computer (stripped before sending)

How to opt out

You can disable crash reports at any time:

Lightbridge menu > Send Crash Reports (uncheck)

This takes effect immediately. No data is sent while the option is off.

What we don’t collect

Lightbridge does not collect:

  • Usage analytics or feature tracking
  • Keystroke or interaction data
  • Network traffic or browsing data
  • Hardware identifiers or device fingerprints
  • Location data

Data storage

Crash reports are stored on Sentry’s servers (hosted in the US) and retained for 90 days. Only the Lightbridge development team has access.

Show files and preferences

Your show files (.lbshow) and preferences are stored locally on your computer. They are never uploaded, synced, or transmitted to any server.

Auto-updates

Lightbridge checks for updates via GitHub Releases on launch. This sends a standard HTTPS request to GitHub’s servers, which is subject to GitHub’s privacy policy. No personal data is sent in this request.
